CA Takes Part in “Mikayla’s Voice” Initative

This past Tuesday, our students at the junior/senior high school learned about “Mikayla’s Voice.” Mikayla’s Voice is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded to include kids of all abilities, but their mission has taken on an even greater purpose over the years. All children should feel valued and welcome in their school and community ~ and understand that it’s their responsibility to help others to feel the same. Mikayla’s Voice challenges kids to create a kinder, more inclusive world where everyone has a friend.

Mr. Mike Sharkey was the presenter. Moving forward, the district plans to take part in Kaya’s Kaleidoscope Interactive Art Program. Twenty-four students will participate- twelve special education and twelve regular education students will work together to create a project that is displayed in the school. An assembly to reveal the project will also take place at a later date.

The Charger community looks forward to being “Mikayla’s Voice” in helping to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students who attend here!
