The Carbondale Area Junior High boys baseball team traveled to Western Wayne on Thursday, April 28th.

Western Wayne jumped up on Carbondale by taking a 7 to 0 lead going into the 3rd inning. The Chargers never laid down and in the 3rd inning the bats and base running came alive. The Chargers scored 7 runs in the 3rd inning to tie the game up. The boys woke up and get the momentum going throughout the remainder of the game! Zander Keill went 4 for 5 at the plate, while laying down 2 perfect bunts with Will Murphy on 3rd to create the suicide squeeze twice during the game which were executed perfectly. Will’s exceptional base running got him into scoring position each time he reached base.  Ryan Waters,  Giovanni Hunter, Johnny Gorel, Ethan Lee, also contributed with great hits throughout the game. Carbondale’s Pitchers were Nate Ulmer and Josh Kilhullan, who did exceptional on the mound.

The Chargers battled through 7 innings to pull out the win 15 to 7!

The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late.
