Kindergarten Registration Letter From Mr. Mehalick

Kindergarten Registration Letter From Mr. Mehalick

Dear Kindergarten Parents,

Welcome to the Carbondale Area School Community! You are about to embark on an exciting journey – your child’s education! We are excited and appreciative that you have chosen to begin that journey here at Carbondale Area Elementary School.

In order to help with the transition to kindergarten, we have planned three registration days for you to select from. The dates are as follows: Wednesday May 8th, Wednesday May 15th , and Wednesday May 22nd. The appointments will begin at 8:30am and will continue every 30 minutes. To schedule your appointment please contact Mrs. Jessica Osborne or Mrs. Delores Lasavage at 1-844-330-2273 option 5.

Incoming kindergartners and their parents are encouraged to attend. This is a terrific opportunity to meet some of our dedicated and amazing staff, beginning with our Principal Mr. William Vaverchack, and to familiarize your future student with our school environment.

In addition, we will have our school nurse, speech therapist, occupational therapist, school psychologist, and guidance counselor, on hand to conduct fun and interactive screenings to provide us with the best possible knowledge of your child for when they begin in August. Also, our enrollment officer will be on hand and you can register your child at this time as well. We will also have our transportation director on hand who will be able to provide you information regarding bus stops and anything concerning transportation.

I also would like to invite you to visit us online at, Like Us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter to receive lots of current information about our school. You will find information that can help prepare your child for school, as well as other kindergarten and school-wide information.

Remember, you are the best gift you can give your child! You are your child’s most important teacher! Spend time with your child every day! The elementary years go quickly, but they are among the most important and fundamental years of your child’s life.

Great things are happening at Carbondale Area Elementary School! We encourage you to get involved by joining our PTA, volunteering at school functions, and taking an active role in your child’s education. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if we can be of any assistance. We are here to help you and, most importantly, to help your child have an amazing first experience with school.

Warmest Regards,

Mr. Robert Mehalick
