Senior Spotlight: Julian Turonis

 

Our next Senior Spotlight highlights one of our top artists here at Carbondale Area, Julian Turonis. Julian is the son of Catherine Forster and Pete Turonis. He also has one sister, Isobel, a 2018 graduate of Carbondale Area. Julian is actively involved in the Art Club. Notably, he won the Lackawanna Drug and Alcohol Billboard Contest this year, his favorite memory here at Carbondale Area. His hobbies include drawing, painting, and sketching. His favorite type of artistic style is surrealism and his favorite theme is fantasy. Some of his artwork is displayed below.

Julian not only excels as an artist; he has also achieved a high level of success academically here at Carbondale Area. He has been a member of Academic Honors, the National Honor Society, and the High Honor Roll since the seventh grade. During high school, Julian was a member of the Spanish Club for three years and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) for two years. Additionally, he works at Pete’s Place as a dishwasher. Julian’s future plans are to attend college to major in Illustration. The Carbondale Area School District congratulates Julian on his achievements thus far and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
