The Carbondale Area School District would like to share some exciting news for any students residing in the Carbondale Area School District community, and currently enrolled in a public cyber school. We believe that this news can positively reacquaint you to The Carbondale Area School District.
Last fall we started the Carbondale Area Cyber Academy, which is our K-12 Cyber Program. We currently have 40 students enrolled in the program ranging from K-12th grade. In our first year we had (3) students graduate with a Carbondale Area School District diploma.
New for the 2019-2020 school year we will be introducing a Cyber Coordinator. In addition to the Cyber Coordinator we will also be opening the Carbondale Area School District Cyber Lab in which the Cyber Coordinator will supervise. The Cyber Lab will serve as a place where our cyber students can come in to work on their cyber courses and receive 1 on 1 help with their assignments
We are also excited to announce that new for the 19-20 school year cyber students are eligible to receive a daily free lunch in our cafeteria.
Lastly, we will be providing students with new Dell Chromebook laptops for this coming school year.
Unlike other cyber programs, we allow our students to work ahead and do not limit the amount of work a student can complete each day or each week. This allows students the opportunity to work ahead in their classes and possibly complete them early.
Carbondale Area Cyber Academy students have the opportunity to participate in all school related activities, this includes but is not limited to athletics, clubs, class trips, and prom.
All students who graduate from the Carbondale Area Cyber Academy will receive a Carbondale Area School District diploma and will be able to walk on stage if they choose to.
Please contact Mr. Mehalick Superintendent of Schools at 1-844-330-2273 extension 1224 or Mr. Donald McDonough our Director of Cyber at extension 1178.
We also invite you to visit our cyber website at cyber.carbondalearea.org to find out more information about our very successful cyber program.
If you know a student living in our district that is attending a public cyber school, please share this exciting news!
We look forward to speaking with you soon!
